Missed the June 1 RPIE deadline? File now and you may avoid financial penalties.

For those property owners that fail to timely file RPIE statements, the NYC Department of Finance imposes financial penalties. Based on the assessment, these penalties can range from $300 to $100,00. DOF has indicated that — under certain conditions — it will accept late filing without imposing these penalties. The Department will be sending notices for properties that it identifies as non-filers. It will offer these properties a 30-day cure period to file the RPIE. For first time non-filers, DOF states that it will not impose any financial penalty, even if the RPIE is not filed within the cure period. For more information, see DOF’s non-filer penalty guide.
